What to expect:
During the end of the 16th century, the Elizabethan House was built by Benjamin Cowper, then in 1635 John Carter bought the property from Mr Cowper. Oliver Cromwell was a friend of Mr Carter and many meetings of the roundheads took place in this building including the fate of King Charles I being decided in the upstairs conspiracy room. Since 1667, 14 families have lived in the house, the last being the Alfred family with the last surviving member passing away in 1949. Many paranormal occurrences have been witnessed including ghostly footsteps, bangs, people being touched, drawers being opened and closed by unseen hands.
